MEPCalc Pro — Beta
AI-augmented MEP design and estimating platform for working professionals. Invitation-only beta. 25 seats. Free during beta in exchange for structured feedback.
What it is
MEPCalc Pro is a professional extension of our open MEPCalc calculator suite — with AI at the layers where AI genuinely helps. Code-check against current International Mechanical, Plumbing, and Electrical codes with Delaware / PA / NJ / MD amendments layered. Faster design iteration. Drawing-review assist that reads your PDFs and flags coordination conflicts across disciplines. Cost benchmarking against anonymized project data from other beta firms. Energy modeling hooks.
The free MEPCalc set (at mepcalc.thehivemakes.com) will always remain free. Pro is for firms that need more than single-point calculation — they need workflow integration, drawing intelligence, and professional-grade outputs. It's the tool we'd want if we were running a commercial MEP practice.
Why beta and why invitation-only
Real tools for real professionals need real-world calibration. We're limiting the first cohort to 25 firms because the beta is a two-way commitment: we give you the product free, and in exchange you meet with us quarterly to tell us what's working, what's broken, and what's missing. That conversation only works at small scale.
Twenty-five is also how many firms Dan can onboard personally in the Mid-Atlantic region.
What beta members get
- Free access during beta — expected to run 9 to 12 months. No lock-in; leave whenever.
- Direct shaping of the roadmap — what we build next comes from beta member input, not guesses.
- In-person onboarding — a one-hour working session in Wilmington or on-site at your firm. We walk through the product with your actual projects. Not a video tutorial.
- Quarterly feedback calls with Dan directly. No CSM layer.
- Public credit as a beta firm, with permission, when Pro leaves beta.
Who fits
Commercial MEP engineering firms, MEP services groups inside construction management firms, and design-build practices in the Mid-Atlantic (Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia). We're looking for the person who would actually open the tool daily — usually a senior engineer, MEP Manager, or Director of MEP Services level. If that's you or your direct report, apply.
Apply
Short email. Tell us your firm, your role, the project types you work on, and one sentence on what an MEP tool would have to do to be useful on your actual desk. We read every message.
